Medium transport (Ca.133) |
The Caproni 101 was developed from model Ca.97 by introducing the trimotor concept. Designed as a transport or bomber, the Ca.101 shown his affidability and toughness during the Etiopian war, and was also used as a recon plane or for Medevac roles. The direct evolution of the 101 was the Ca.133, that born in 1934 with structural and aereodynamical improvements, more powerful engines and modified flaps and tail areas. The civil version could carry 16 passengers, the military one 18 soldiers. It was largely used in African Italian colonies, as it served in Regia Aeronautica as well as in Ala Littoria airlines. The final version of the succesful plane was the Ca.148, with a modified cockpit and a more cargo capability. It was built from 1938 to 1943. |
