| Plane type & model | Interceptor (DO 335A-1) | Derivated from Goppingen Go 9 , the project of Dornier 335 (denominated Projekt 231) was noted for the dispositon of the two engines in a straight line. Ideated initially as a bomber, the P231 was utilized as an interceptor fighter. With superb performances, the Do 355 was developed also to fulfill recon, night - interception, and attack roles. Only one unit, the Erprobungskommando 335 , was equipped with the plane from September 1944. This unit made only operative testing missions , but never ufficially employed the Do 335 in combat. |
