Henschel HS123
Plane type & model Dive bomber (Hs 123A-1) The Henschel Hs 123 was projected in 1934 to resphond to a specify that required the realization in short time of a dive-bomber. The second part of the specify generated later the Stuka. The testings were made in 1935 , and after some structural problems, a fourth modified prototype, gave good results ad it began the series production. Entered in service in 1936, the Hs 123 operated also in the Spain war and the Spanish Air Forces keep the plane in service also after the fightings. Substituted by the Stuka as a dive bomber, this plane was successfully utilized in Russia as an attack plane in support to ground troops, and it was so useful that in 1943 it was ipotized the return in production. In 1944 it disappeared from service because of the combat losses.
